The Two Great Sins

I am not sure why, I am not sure about Gods reasoning; but tonight I want to talk about what God has said to me over the course of today. God told me that as we struggle to know God our struggle in sin grows, even as our efforts and conviction to know and do what’s best for ourselves grows stronger. You may notice that something is missing, where is God’s effort, God’s conviction? That’s the problem, at some point and in some aspect of our lives we have traded Gods knowledge and conviction for what our own. We have turned to our own ideas and designs of desire and strength.
Our greatest sin of desire has been stated in the bible as lust or adultery; this is true beyond all comparisons I can possibly make. The bible says this “the body is for the lord and the lord is for the body…” (1 Corinthians Ch. 6) I don’t really know how others might interpret this but I have to say this verse is to be paired with the fact that we are made in God’s image. Though this is a pairing that none of us would normally come up with on our own because we focus too much on our own will; I even admit that without the pastor of my church this connection never would have occurred. Our will and desire to have pleasure and to be in love. When this desire is paired with God there is no problem; but when we take these desires with ourselves in mind we fall prey to our own demons as Satan proceeds to worsen our situation. Our bodies are for the lord and without the lord we are doomed to sin and corrupt the temple that are bodies are made to be for the lord our God.
Our greatest sin of strength is greed; and greed’s worst form is deception. Who has seen that one person on the street corner who is trying to imitate a homeless person and just doesn’t look the part; that one person who just has no clue what he is doing but is too lazy to take the opportunities that he could have if he simply worked and lived an honest life. Satan is always looking for weaknesses in our hearts hoping to create sin. Greed is a one of the greatest weaknesses and one of the easiest for Satan to exploit. In this weakness we forget God and his desire for us to know and do what is right. In the end we sometimes use deceit to gain what we want. To consider however that this is a constant happening in every person’s life cannot be said but it is true to say that at some point or another every person who has ever lived and does live has and will deceive and have greed in their hearts.
But despite all of our selfishness and shortcomings God has given us a second chance through Jesus. All Christians know that Jesus died on the cross for our sins but this is just the gift basket it’s what is inside which matters most, eternal life; the opportunity to stand in God’s presence, a god who is willing to help his children overcome their inability to live outside of sin. God loves us but we blind ourselves to that love with desire and thoughts of how to gain our own strength.

What Good is One of Four

To god I gave my soul
To Satan I gave my life
To humanity I gave my heart

As Satan received empty glory
he laughed at his fools fortune
and lost his voice

As god rejoiced in his prize
he spoke wisdom in joy
and lost his humility

As humanity received its gift
fellow man fought for all rights to it
and they lost their innocence

All I have left is my conscience
in it broods regret
three parts gone, three parts fool

All that remains is one
in this one there is little
so what should be done with it?

the Fingerprint Font

I live to be alive
do I have a greater motivation
no.
do I need one
maybe...

If so what motivation would I choose
family would make sense
that classic photo in the future
the innocent image
father, mother, child
all in sweet bliss

Though the thought seems to cliched
so what other possibilities
wealth, fame, some personal dream,
I find all these thoughts to be overused
worn out ties on this ancient railroad

Wait!
what about these words
this page
living for such a simple cause as a pen
perhaps I'm not the first to do so
a pen certainly won't ensure wealth
fame is hardly a guarantee either

But for myself this pen is happiness
the ink that flows to a page
this fingerprint font
yes this is my motivation.

The World So Defined

And so the world spins a new tale
As every minute and every second passes
People find that they have their world has joined another
Individual lives brushing up next to each other
Sometimes intertwining

Is it at random that we meet new people?
Chance that we take notice of the person sitting on the side of the road
How interesting that our lives can be effected so easily
And yet we can’t tell when we affect another life

For purpose to exist there must be a reason
Logic is an indispensable key
Though it is only one of many keys
It can be molded and changed to fit so many different locks

Nice to think that we can access so many different areas of life
But what are those areas of life?
Where do they lead?
And how do those areas come into contact with the rest of the world?

Funny isn’t it?
All the questions that are asked
All the possibilities that are perceived no matter how ridiculous
Seems that knowledge doesn’t just come to those who seek
But to those who wait for the right realization to hit them
Don’t laugh at how the world seems so rushed, preoccupied.
Because doing so show that you are preoccupied with the world

It isn’t right to be so hypocritical of the masses
Especially when the masses are too busy to return the favor
Instead smile and wave as the world passes by
Sometimes brushing up against your life
This way the world has a reason to wave back
As it fades into the blurred mess that is flying through time

Leaving the possibility that a single person with even a tiny amount of faith
Can show that the world has a definition still never thought of

just a p.s. moment. i wrote this one a while back but forgot to post it or even that i had written it i hope that you enjoy.

The Fascination I Have

No story
No painting
No attainable item
No thing
Has the capacity to grasp
Jesus Birth

A single star to signify the beginning of the end of sins control
High above the stable
Father God
Watching his holy sons birth
As mother Mary lays the head of Jesus to rest
In straw, in loving silence

Three Kings in mortal reverence
They arrive with gifts
Incense, gold, and myrrh
From three kings without explanation
The respect for Gods son comes

It is here, the story of God's glory begins to climax
Only the cross can signify the final stretch of mans existence
And only Revelations will bring the end

But through the resolution Jesus Life will be remembered
And Christmas will glory the birth of our savior
The creators son

I am fascinated by the bible
Like so many before me, with me
And yet to say they believe
